+ What is the best way to work on the Hypothalamus, Pituitary and Adrenals? - October 06

Hi John
It was a very interesting post grad on Saturday.
Thank you for that. (My arms are still aching though!)
One question.
How is the best way to work on Hypothalamus, Pituitary and Adrenals?
Thanks John.

>>>MY COMMENTS:

I'm glad you enjoyed the post grad Odile. Full body release is draining for practitioners in a way that's beyond the physicality of carrying someones body weight for the day.

Now, to your Hypothalamus, Pituitary and Adrenals question. I'll take them one at a time because they are each quite different.

I don't often come across problems in the hypothalamus directly. It doesn't really feel like a structure in and of itself but more like a collection of little structures or a conduit for structures.

So working with patterns of restriction in the general vicinity of the hypothalamus has a direct effect on the hypothalamus as they release.

The pituitary, on the other hand, is a different kettle of fish. It has a very strong and distinct . . . let's call it, personality. It is a very busy structure and is VERY sensitive to physical pressure of any kind.

It sits on top of the sphenoid in its little Turkish saddle like some kind of moth rider in a fantasy novel. It is most vulnerable at its infundibulum as it comes through the diaphragm sellae. Membrane tensions anywhere in the system can have an adverse effect here.

Adrenal glands also have a very distinct feel to them. In our modern lifestyle they are usually tired from over use.

We should really be born with a spare set of adrenals so we can replace them when we are about 40.

If the kidneys are a champagne bottle of fear then the adrenals are the cork in the bottle. Past a certain point they explode in a cascade.

When someone is sympathetic dominant and have been that way for a long time, it often feels like their adrenals have energetically taken over the whole kidney. It feels like there are two whooping great adrenal glands and no kidneys.

Having said all that I have found that even though the adrenals are often semi-burnt out they are rarely the cause of the problem. They are more like the end product. The causes of sympathetic dominance are varied. It can be physical or emotional or spiritual.

That's all very interesting John but how do I actually work with them?

With your intention.
